Boatswain-
Crewmember: Michael
The
Boatswain
is constantly be in tune with
the needs of the Ship and its
members. He or she acts as role
model, morale officer,
confidante and liaison with
other persons and institutions.
Mariner esprit-de-corps is a
major responsibility of the
Boatswain.
The
Boatswain is the elected youth
head of the Sea Scout ship.
Boatswain's Mate(s)-
Crewmembers: Michael
. The Boatswain's
Mate is the second
highest-ranking youth leader of
the Sea Scout ship.
The
Boatswain's Mate is in-training
to be Boatswain. It is expected
that the person elected to this
position will become the
Boatswain the following season
unless he or she is found to be
incompetent, or fails to
complete rank requirements prior
to elections for the season he
or she is to be Boatswain. The
Boatswain’s Mate should attend
as many activities as possible
and be the constant shadow of
the Boatswain.

The Yeoman is an appointed
record-keeping youth leader of the
Sea Scout ship.

Lisa Bickford

Scout Ship 300 Skipper - Jeffrey Lam Jeffrey
has been involved with Scouting
since 2002 as a founding member of
Troop 495 in San Jose, CA, where
he earned his Eagle Scout in April
2008. He has served in numerous
volunteer positions, most notably
as Assistant Scoutmaster, OA
Associate Chapter Adviser, and
Council International Committee
member. Some of his notable
experiences include completing
three Philmont treks,
participating in the 2007 World
Jamboree in the UK, and
volunteering to staff the 2017
National Jamboree in West
Virginia. He has also coordinated
several Polaris District Camporees
and Jamborees-on-the-Internet.
Additional achievements include
the OA Brotherhood Honor,
International Spirit Award, and
Messengers of Peace Award, and
additional training includes Wood
Badge and Leave No Trace Trainer.
Jeffrey graduated from USC with a
chemistry major and cinematic arts
minor, and is currently pursuing a
master's degree in higher
education from the University of
Pennsylvania. He is passionate
about youth mentoring and
leadership development, skills he
learned throughout his Scouting
career and will apply in his
professional plans as a college
administrator.
